Why You Should Start Doing Home Yoga

I am very sure you have heard about yoga. It’s a very popular term for people who maintain and keep an active lifestyle. As for me, one good way to practice self-love is to treat yourself a good workout— Yoga!

What You Didn’t Know About Yoga

People are often discouraged with the idea of doing yoga. One reason because they think it’s too hard to try if you have a non-flexible body. Second, they believe they don’t need it because it’s for people with mental health problems.

False and definitely false.

Yoga is actually an excellent alternative for people who wanted to work out in a gentle manner. If you don’t prefer lifting weights, then yoga can be a great fitness exercise for you. Yoga also offers compelling benefits. And nope, it’s not just for your mental health, but it improves your overall health.

In fact, almost anyone can do it, regardless of your age or fitness level.

Today, I’m gonna tell you a few reasons why I got interested in doing yoga and why I highly recommend it for you.

It’s a Good Mood Booster

One of the things that I like about yoga is that it quickly lifts up my mood. As a work at home mom, working for hours easily triggers my mood swings, anxiety, and I also tend to lose focus.

Squeezing a quick yoga sesh in the morning totally jumpstarts my day and gives me the energy I need for a long day of work.

Gives You Peace of Mind

Since I have a lot of things to do at home: taking care of Zeke, breastfeeding, and working (a lot), I tend to lose my presence of mind and sometimes I easily get irritated. I lose all my happy energy.

One thing that I like about yoga is that it’s a very relaxing workout that immediately sets my mind to a good mood— back to the number first reason, a good way to uplift my mood, and as well as my peace of mind.

I’ve never felt relaxed and calm after every workout sesh.

It’s a Mind and Body Healing

Yoga is proven to be therapeutic. Even the simple yoga routines can help you heal your mind and eventually your body responds to its healing.

Must-Haves in Doing Yoga at Home

Especially during this time of Pandemic, where we are much prone to anxiousness and stress, doing at-home yoga can be a good way to de-stress and unwind.

With that, you can simply perform yoga routines at home with the help of these basic essentials.

1 Yoga Mat

Even with other exercises, you must have an active mat to help you perform well and accurately. Yoga mat makes sure that you are comfortable in your yoga positions and also saves you from slipping.

2 Good Active Wear

Make sure that you wear comfortable clothes in doing your home yoga. Obviously, wearing pants wouldn’t be ideal. You can wear support or active bras, tight leggings, or active pants, and don’t forget your hair ties.

Take note that you can do yoga, either wearing sport shoes, active socks, or barefoot.

3 Skip the Accessories and Get the Water

Skip your watch and earrings but rather stay close with your water. You might need it to keep yourself hydrated the whole time. Also, the right workout playlist can help too.

4 Read About Yoga

Prior to even starting your at-home yoga journey, it is best that you also read and research about yoga. You can simply go to for more relevant yoga articles, tips, and guides.
